I do not usually celebrate 100 days of anything, but I am celebrating 100 days of poems today!  And today also marks #7 in a series of Poetry Friday poems about poems.  Numbers 1-6 were: "Science is Like Writing" (#58), "Poems Talk" (#65), "Here Poem" (#72), "Stay Awhile" (#79), "Listening" (#86), and "Pick Up a Printed Poem" (#93).  This poem grew from a wish to write about poetry and Tricia's Monday Poetry Stretch about skies.

If you are a regular reader here, I would be tickled if you would share this link with a friend today.  Also, if you are willing to "follow" The Poem Farm publicly, I thank you in advance.  Thank you to everyone for your new and old friendship over the past few months.  This has been more fun than I had even imagined!

Today's Poetry Friday is hosted by Carol at Carol's Corner.  Please mosey on over there for the complete roundup.

  2. I love the river and pond and sky as poet. The last two lines, about knowing and being a daughter, totally got to me. Wonderful.

  4. Happy 100 Poems, Amy! Each one shines and speaks to your readers. I love the way this one connects the sky theme with poetry ~ you have a way with words and are truly an example of someone who lives like a writer. I think of you often as I am trying to take this advice and live each day with my eyes, ears, and heart wide open! Thank you for helping me find my way.

  6. Dear Toby, Linda, Jeannine, Elaine, Theresa, and Cecilia,
Your words mean the sky to me...there is nothing sweeter than kind words from those you admire, and one of the best parts of this project for me has been making new friends and reading and learning from your words in your books and on your blogs. Somehow this community makes me think of Charlotte, another good friend and good writer.
    Love,
    Amy

  7. Toby,
I forgot to answer your question. Yes, these were both taken on our drive to the pool yesterday. But the pond picture is an embarrassing story. We drove by the home of friends and Mark said, "I'll stop, and you can just pop out and take a quick picture." I said no because I didn't want to ask and didn't want to sneak. Well, he encouraged me ("It'll be a great photo, and you can tell them later!) So I went down the bank and started shooting sans glasses. There, from the middle of the pond, I heard our friend say, "Hey! Come on IN!" You would have laughed to see me say, "Oh...well...I just need uh a sky picture...for my blog? I hope it's okay..." Everyone was relieved that he had not been skinny dipping and there were no hard feelings. Ah...living as a blogger...hee hee!

  8. 100 poems! This poem is beautiful. I reread it over and over for its richness in language. I look forward to seeing your poems in my reader each day. Thank you for sharing them with us.
