Mend, Fix, Repair

Poochie
by Amy LV

Usually I write more here about Friday poems, but during this time (through June 12, 2020), I am instead sharing weekday writing videos for students and teachers at Keeping a Notebook and will crosspost here on Fridays.

Margaret is hosting today's Poetry Friday roundup over at Reflections on the Teche with a gentle, gift, a golden shovel poem for her students. As for Poetry Friday, we invite everybody to join in each Friday as we share poems, poem books, poetry ideas, and friendship. Check out my left sidebar to learn where to find this poetry goodness each week of the year.

  3. Once upon a time, Droopy the dog wore out along the bottom, stitches rent, stuffing spilling out, and a mom, handy seamstress but even more mistress of efficiency, tucked Droopy into a yellowgold corduroy sack made for an unloved doll, and Droopy spent the rest of his days carried, cradled, cozied in corduroy. Thanks for taking me there.

  4. This poem is a hug in itself. I am filled with pride as I watch my children become loving mothers. It's the little caring things that matter.

  5. Pure sweetness in these words, Amy. Reminds me of my Cindy Bear from childhood whose stuffing spilled out from the "love" holes in her torso. My grandma fashioned a green dress to Cindy to keep her together. Thanks for helping remember my grandma's loving gesture. :)

  6. Sweetness, Amy, what kindnesses happen in our world, wishing that for every child. There are a 'few' stitches in a beloved teddy bear of mine. loved since I was a baby.
