  1. Amy,

I am delighted that FOREST HAS A SONG is having a christening. Barb Faust and I will arrive at your book release party in a flurry of fandom. It will be grand to help you celebrate and to read/hear your wonderful words!

  5. Checking to see if I can post without logging in. I have a teacher who would like to use your site but it is blocked by our filter and I am being asked if I checked for Section 2D compliance. ???

    1. Your comment will only show up if I approve it. And I do not approve comments from children. Some districts block blogs and then lift the block on ones they seem safe. Thank you for writing.

  6. Amy, this website is amazing!! I am a literacy coach creating writing units for K-5 and wondering if I can use some of your poems as models for various lessons in the poetry units. Is this acceptable? If so, is it ok to rewrite then poems without the colored background since those are difficult to read when printed?

    1. Yes, Trupti! You are welcome to use these poems within your district for students. I ask that you keep formatting, line breaks, and my name on the poems, and if you wish to use them more widely, please just drop me an e-mail. Peace, a.

  7. Hi Amy! Just got the word that school is done for the year....feeling a little empty and your voice and image cheered me up! Do you have any of your poems for this strange "in between" world of wanting to say hello and goodbye to my students? I've always loved the end of school poem, but with COVID 19, I'm a little stuck. Miss your visits at DeWitt and hope all is well.

  8. Amy, this website is wonderful! I'm a 6th grade ELA teacher and am currently making my virtual classroom library. I was wondering if I could use some of your poems for this. Thanks!

    1. Yes. My poems are free for classroom use (not for TPT materials or other materials for sale.) Please just leave the formatting just as is and leave my name on the poems is all I ask! All best to you as you begin the year. Peace, Amy
