Thank you to Heinemann for giving away a copy of my book POEMS ARE TEACHERS: HOW STUDYING POETRY STRENGTHENS WRITING IN ALL GENRES each week of April. I will draw names from the previous week each Thursday evening at 11:59pm, and I will announce a winner each Friday. Please leave a way to contact you in your comment as if I cannot contact you easily, I will choose a different name. This week's winner is named atop the post.If you would like to learn more about other National Poetry Month projects happening throughout the Kidlitosphere, Jama has rounded up many NPM happenings over at Jama's Alphabet Soup. Amy, I’m so loving your daily writing and poetry videos! I’m writing right alongside you each day. I’m learning so much. Thank you for sharing and inspiring me. I’ve even committed to a Poetry Friday post each week during NPM. I may even keep them up when April is over. Xo - Hugs! Amy
ReplyDeleteDear Amy, Bianca (my granddaughter who is a fifth grader this year) and I are reading your daily posts and listening to you saying your poems then "we try our best" :) at writing poem/a day. It is so much fun! I cannot tell you how much is Bianca into it especially because I am with her these days and not on the other side of the Ocean as usually. (My husband and I came to visit our son and his family and cannot go back to Bosnia until the situation with this horrible virus is at least a little eased).I don't complain, nor Bianca does ! <3 I promised her that I will share at least one poem with you and your blog followers and here I am, keeping my promise.:) Her poem Our Tree that could go under your topics on April 16 and April 19 is about tree that grows in their yard and that she observed this morning:

Just yesterday, you were bare,
but now you are here,
and have colors to share.
Light green,dark green,
and maybe some red,too,
your dress is so beautiful
as beautiful as you.
I am so much proud of my girl and happy that she was so excited to participate in this year's NPM celebration with you and many of your friends poets and teachers, and children around the country. Thank you bunches for the great lessons included not only for the students but for everyone who is willing to learn about and try writing poetry.. Your love for poetry, your writing and teaching skills and expertise are priceless. XOXO Vida
Violets are the perfect flower for Little Mouse to love! Small and delicate just as I imagine her to be.
